Beginning this month, Bay Street Emeryville welcomes Shake Shack, Uchiwa Ramen, Arthur Mac’s Little Snack, and Tipsy Putt!
- Just Opened: Uchiwa is a play on words that can mean ‘fan’ or ‘house,’ and similar to the Japanese colloquialism ‘uchi-soto’ meaning ‘insider-outsider’ in reference to how one treats guests. For Uchiwa Ramen it symbolizes their premium on hospitality and creating a welcoming environment to enjoy traditional Japanese comfort food.
- Grand Opening January 31: Tipsy Putt is a local beer focused pub that features a unique and challenging miniature golf course. Whatever brings you in – first date, delicious beer, team building event, adult birthday party, watching sports, happy hour, or to challenge your friends at a game, their goal is to provide a place where everyone feels welcome to relax and have a great time. Additionally, a member’s only speakeasy hidden in plain sight focuses on custom curated and prohibition era cocktails. While members always take priority, all guests can sneak a visit on password access nights.
- Opening in February: Arthur Mac’s Tap & Snack, an independent Oakland-based beer garden specializing in local craft beer, brick oven pizza and spicy hot wings, will be opening Arthur Mac’s Little Snack. This updated concept, featuring house-canned cocktails, will be their first expansion after 5 years of operation at their original location across from the MacArthur BART Station. Stay tuned for grand opening details!
- Opening in February: Shake Shack is a modern day “roadside” burger stand known for their 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers and flat-top Vienna beef dogs (no added hormones and no antibiotics ever), 100% all-natural cage-free chicken (no antibiotics ever), spun-fresh frozen custard, crinkle cut fries, craft beer and wine (available at select locations) and more. Brand New Signings
International Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão is opening its second Bay Area location and will take over the former P.F. Chang’s location at Bay Street Emeryville, and Mexican restaurant Flores will take over the former California Pizza Kitchen location with construction starting on both sites in February. Also, from the creators of progressive Indian restaurant ROOH comes Pippal, a new take on cuisine from India.
- Fogo de Chão (fogo-dee-shown) is an internationally renowned restaurant that allows guests to discover what’s next at every turn. Founded in Southern Brazil in 1979, Fogo elevates the centuries-old cooking technique of churrasco – the art of roasting high-quality cuts of meat over an open flame – into a cultural dining experience of discovery. In addition to its Market Table and Feijoada Bar – which includes seasonal salads and soup, fresh vegetables, imported charcuterie and more – guests are served simply-seasoned meats that are butchered, fire-roasted and carved tableside by gaucho chefs.
- Flores is a fun and vibrant Mexican restaurant serving traditional Mexican food and contemporary cocktails. At Flores, they stay true to their roots, finding inspiration in Mexico’s food, landscape, and culture. They’re serious about their food, but they’re even more serious about having a good time.
- From the founders of ROOH Progressive Indian comes Pippal Regional Indian. Pippal is named for the sacred fig trees that can be found in every city and village in India and is usually a gathering place in the community to get together for conversations, food and drinks. Guests will be treated to a regularly changing menu of regional dishes from throughout India. It’s a casual, yet modern twist on traditional cuisine in a warm and inviting setting. Pippal is expected to open in Summer 2023.
