The Bay Street Bite 2nd Edition: Restaurant Updates from Bay Street Emeryville

Saucy Asian to Join Bay Break Terrace

In this edition of the Bay Street Bite, we are pleased to announce that Saucy Asian will be coming to Bay Street Emeryville’s Bay Break. Inspired by a childhood that fused his Korean family roots with his American upbringing, founder Andrew Shinn is a Bay Area native who wanted to share his Korean-American culture  with the world, through a delicious blend of new but familiar foods.

Saucy Asian features a wide variety of bowls, poke and California-inspired fusion burritos and tacos. Each item is made with fresh ingredients including truly unique blends of sauces and flavors from kimchi-chipotle aioli and homemade gochujang sauce to Korean styled pickled jalapeños and fried rice cake (ddeokbokki) drizzled with gochujang aioli.

“Saucy Asian starts with the marinade,” said Shinn. “It’s not fusion without a traditional foundation, so we use the flavors of home, like bulgogi marinade and add a California twist for a flavor that you can only find at Saucy Asian. We can’t wait to share our creations with the East Bay.”

Arthur Mac’s Little Snack Ready to Serve up Pizza and Brews

Bay Street Emeryville is set to host the grand opening of Arthur Mac’s Little Snack, the second restaurant in the Oakland-based Arthur Mac’s brand in conjunction with the Bay Break Grand Opening on Saturday, March 25.

Named for the MacArthur BART station its first restaurant neighbors, the beer garden and pizzeria recreates its East Bay experience at Bay Street Emeryville’s Bay Break. Guests can look forward to a rotating list of local craft brews, wines, hard seltzers and ciders to accompany handmade cold-fermented brick oven pizza, flavorful hot wings, fresh salads and soft serve ice cream.

Shake Shack Announces Grand Opening Plans

On Thursday, March 16 at 11 am, Shake Shack will be welcomed to Bay Street Emeryville with a ribbon cutting ceremony  and grand opening celebration. To make an immediate impact on the community, Shake Shack will donate $1 from each sandwich sale during its grand opening to Just Fare a locally-based charitable organization working to make a more equitable and just food system and providing nourishing, responsible sourced and dignified meals to those at-risk of hunger.

The first 100 guests who attend the opening will receive a commemorative Shake Shack tumbler. Bay Area specialty sandwich – the Golden State Double – will be available at the Bay Street location. Limited time specialties such as the White Truffle Burger and White Truffle ‘Shroom Burger will also be available, along with Shake Shack’s famous shakes and frozen custards.
