This popular Japanese grocery store is moving into a brand-new 40,635-square-foot building at Bay Street Emeryville as the shopping center’s anchor grocery tenant. It’s known for its Japanese products, produce and prepared foods like sushi — but the Bay Street store will also have an upscale restaurant. This will mark the chain’s first store in the East Bay and second in the Bay Area; another is located in Cupertino. Targeted opening: late summer
