Rotten City Cultural District (RCCD) is pleased to present: Beyond the Lamplight x Steadfast Gallery.
Celebrating the creativity of current and former Pixar artists alongside the wide range of talents from artists at Steadfast Gallery and originally launched as a short film program at the Emeryville Film Festival, Beyond the Lamplight was created to provide a space for Pixarians to share personal projects made outside of their studio work. In 2025, the program expanded beyond film with its first gallery exhibition, showcasing original, non-IP artwork and offering the community a glimpse into the independent creative practices of artists beyond their work for the screen.
Emeryville-based Steadfast Gallery was launched by former Pixar employees in 2024 as an online gallery home for commercial artists who, alongside their day jobs as pop culture makers, have a distinct personal art practice. Informed by their work in design, theater, and animation, Steadfast’s artists share a high level of craft and deep artistic integrity no matter the theme, genre, or media.
This year, Beyond the Lamplight enters a new chapter through its first collaboration with Steadfast Gallery and its first exhibition in the new RCCD Art Space in Emeryville. Bringing together current and former Pixar artists with artists from Steadfast Gallery, the exhibition showcases a wide range of talents, perspectives, styles, and creative disciplines from overlapping artistic communities.
From personal projects and independent works to explorations beyond the artists’ everyday creative practices, Beyond the Lamplight x Steadfast Gallery is a celebration of the creativity that emerges when artists are given the space to create on their own terms.
