Habitot Children’s Museum first opened its doors in 1998 in downtown Berkeley and has been serving communities and families ever since. The museum and playspace engaged children with exhibits including paintable walls, rocket launchers and a baby ball pit, according to its website. Despite its long history, Habitot faced difficulties in finding a suitable location, according to executive director Gina Moreland. Now, after its initial closure in March 2020, the museum has finally reopened a temporary physical location on Bay Street in Emeryville.
