Japanese grocery store sets opening date for giant new Bay Area location

Tokyo Central will open at Bay Street Emeryville on Jan. 31, according to an Instagram post, with Japanese groceries, snacks, produce and prepared foods like sushi. The Bay Street store will also have an “upscale” Japanese restaurant; details about it have not yet been released.
