Easier Than Ever to Enjoy Lunch at East Bay’s Top Shopping and Dining Destination

EMERYVILLE, CA, November 5, 2024 — Bay Street Emeryville today announced a new parking initiative designed to make lunchtime shopping and dining more convenient. Starting Monday, November 4, 2024, Bay Street will offer free parking in their garages from noon to 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday, providing shoppers with two hours of complimentary parking during the midday peak.

“Bay Street Emeryville is the hub of the area’s biotech and business communities,” said David Palomo, the property’s general manager. “As more and more people are being called back to their offices for work, our goal is to provide them with the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful outdoor lunch from our wide, diverse selection of eateries without having to worry about the added expense of parking.”

The new program will function much the same as the existing 30 minutes free option. Visitors who arrive during the designated window will still need to utilize the kiosks or mobile pay options to reserve their parking space, and to continue to receive a reminder notification shortly before the free period is ending so they can extend their time if needed.

Key aspects of this updated parking system include:

  • Automatic adjustment: From noon to 2 p.m., arriving visitors will be able to park for free for up to two hours. Visitors arriving at 1:30 p.m. will receive the standard 30 minutes of free parking, after which regular rates will resume.
  • Seamless pre-payment option: Visitors who arrive after noon and choose paid parking will not be charged until 2 p.m. They may select an hourly stay that starts at 2 p.m., making it simple to plan an extended stay.
  • Pay station and mobile pay enhancements: To support this new feature, the center’s pay stations and mobile pay will include updates clearly indicating the free parking availability and pre-payment options, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience for all visitors. Notices on the rate selection page will clarify the timing and process for both free and paid parking options.

Bay Street is also excited to launch a new QR code ordering system on Bay Break Dining Terrace, making waiting in line a thing of the past and group orders and split checks seamless. Partnering with DoorDash Tableside Order & Pay, as of Nov. 1, customers will notice QR codes on the Bay Break Dining Terrace tables allowing them to order from one or multiple merchants right from their table.  As soon as the orders are ready, customers will take a short walk to pick up their meals.  Once a customer’s tab is open, they can continue to seamlessly order food and drinks throughout their meal.

“We have been excited to launch this ordering to-go program on Bay Break for quite some time,” said Christa Williams, the property’s marketing manager. “As our dining terrace gets busier and busier, especially as we head into the holiday season, we want to offer our guests a top-notch and effortless dining experience.”

To-go orders will also be available on the Bay Street website so customers and local residents can order their food even before they arrive.
